This is my first OT thread. I think it will be interesting to know or find out how everyone came up with their nick. I believe there is a simple reason or explanation on how you decided to be know as that. Was it due to certain respect for a fish, concidence with your name, reference to a object or brand or purely came up on it when registering on FK for the first time while pissed drunk and registered yourself as "Supersuckerfish" Hope that this off beat thread will shed some light on your story and also bring a smile to others. Let me start the ball rolling. For me, dcool has been with me since i first got my first email account at singnet 10 years ago ( no more with them liao) I couldnt think of any cooler nick at that moment when i sign up, so i just thgt of a short form, DKhoo aka Derek Khoo but i change it to Dcool since it also have the same sound and is waaay cooler . Of course there are some who like to call it "Ti Ku" also know as underwear in chinese. haha... right Dave ?? Life is too short to stop fishing

In my case it was given to me by my friends. We go bottom fishing at Tioman. Along the way I/we do trolling. I always ended up with a tenggeri or two in a trip. Thru the 20 years or more, I got about 20 tenggeris. So my friends Jeffrey, John, David, Michael, nickname me Tenggeri King. My friends nick is Michael Marlin. He caught a marlin and I gaffed it up for him. Another guy, Daniel nick is "Director". You can imagine why he is called that. Well, . . . a nick is just a nick. happy fishing

Hehe.wonder whether nick will look here and tell us how he got his nick!!!Hehe. anyway mine was from my cs nick...when we were playing ice world map and i was like so freaking good last time in iceworld...and i liked buying he grenade(bomb) from the part where u can buy them in the map...so ended up with icebomb...hehe... www.baktao.blogspot.com

Wow 'icebomb', U the 1st FishingKaki member to have a "BLUEFIN TUNA!!!" as Avatar huh! (with over 2k posting) Congrat... Anyway, 'stingrray' this nick came from my email account. When I register free mail account. Have to choose own nick. Then I type a few and all couldn't go in. Nick tried are like 'thunderCAT', 'dolphine', 'barramudi', even wanted to call myself 'whale'...etc Then I tried the nick 'stingray'. Also couldn't register myself. Very fustrated as it's so hard to register a nick with my liking... finally decide to add double 'R' in stingray therefore my email account successful registered. Then came to know FishingKaki through a good fren. Then use my email account 'nick' and register here lor. 'Stingrray' is not a spelling mistake as alot of fellow kaki still call me 'stingray'. Think a lot of ppl thou my nick was sleepyger the very first time they saw my nick.. I think ben was one of the many.... Well actually my nick come from one of the course that i attended... attended the 65 days of the course and during the course debrief i still fall asleep... Then Kanna shuan .....and kanna tekan by the instructor... So i just put sleepy and my course name.... That's how my nick come about and pls stop calling me sleepyGer .... ===========================================================================

Well, we Mods have to use our real names.... so no prizes there.... But I used to use zac08 as my nick in the past. The nick was chosen as I wanted to use zac for my email in the past when I signed up for the internet, but it was used already. Well for me my name is Nicholas but used to pple calling me Nik or Nick thus when during FK gathering pple ask hey what's your nick? I say u just said it. Then they will Then I will say my nick is nick then ohh.... Kinda reminded me of an army mate of mine whose sirname is You got into several agruements with pple calling and asking for whose that on the line....he will tell pple I am You then the person will say something like I am I, you are you....Another case of my fren whose name is called Eve, when the person on the other end was told who he was speaking to, he said yah..and I am Adam...

im quite simliar to icebomb and stingrray!

when i first ventured into the cyber world, i thought having a unique name was very important, partly as my real names were all taken and chinese name not cool enough!

i thought of my nick when first playing CS. i wanted something that seems gibbish but is special to me.
after these years, the affilation that inspired my nick is no longer a special part of me liao. but im keeping it as most of my emails have this user name and partly sentimental reasons. lol

btw, my original nick is Ven .P.K 09 divided into 4 parts. its often misread as venpick9!

now i have been given lots of fishing nicks, from grouper boy to eel king!
but i think 1 ArMeD BanDiT or 1 ArMeD Pirate is cool.

my nick came quite a long way. during primary school i was quite a talkative student and a loud one. My friends all tell me i louder than the thunder ah! when i started playing online games i began using stupid nicks like bigfoot..etc... than decide to change to Thunderstorm. after when i got in a CS clan, my nick was too long for the clan tag so shorterned it and what i have today since my pri school days, ThunderX. the X meant nothing just to sound nicer and look better =D "Thunder""X" Regards, Jo_eL

If anyone remembers my old nick... :P Well yea, it was cheesy, and I hadn't gone Toman fishing in years. Hence the change after the server crash.
