Does yours have a reel foot number cos many early 6000 models have non. Also the spool is narrower than the commonly seen ones. What caught my eye is that the sideplate is engraved "No 6000 AB. URFABRIKEN-SVANGSTA SWEDEN" instead of Ambassadeur 6000.

But what takes the cake is that it is BLACK

A lot of speculation abt the 6000 in black colour...some say prototype?

Who are you bro? Quick ID yourself

To answer your questions:

1. No foot number
2. Yes it's the color that is interesting
3. Color of spool also interesting and the handle.

Hmm...have i met you before?

Hi Snapper,
Very nice indeed. Any idea how many of these prototypes were made? I wonder how much it'd fetch on ebay today?

Just curious, does it have any roman numerals carved on the inside of the side plates, like some of the record ambassadeurs do?

Gary,

This one is for you.

Near mint black 6000 sold last year to a Danish collector at a private auction for a cool £1200
