Guys,
Have a question for you bottom fishing experts out there.

Fishing scenario: casting off a boat , into a patch of corals
Target fish: coral species esp grouper and ack
Tackle: 10-20lb, sinker 1-3
Method:Cast and slowly retrieve, using rangong(straw typ)
Problem: this method always gets stuck into the corals, esp when retrieving, Because I am using light tackle, sometimes I cannot stop the 1st run of the fish
Question: Any advice on the way to tie my rig such that I minimize sangkok when dragging along the coral floor?
To stop fish, I guess I just need to be more alert and use heavier line.

Please advice.

Bro if the boat anchor "Rangong".Boat drifting "APPOLO" and don't let the sinker touch the seabed.Means crank your reel about 3-4 times.Happy Fishing!

If drifting, i prefer using the apollo, then constantly bouncing the weight of the seabed.

A running sinker should do the trick...drop & crank 3-5 rounds up...

Alternatively if you insist on a ranggong, I would suggest you tie a rubber band to your sinker before attaching it to your rig...this method can also use for apollo...at least you only lose the sinker if you go over rocky patches...

Regards
Ben
