hi, there..When iam in London last mth..i've called n ordered 02 blanks of m4evo from gerrys but its out of stock..n only got reply from him..thus promoting the new m4evo gt.. I knew gt stands for glass tip. Can any fishing seniors here guide me bout the stiffness of de blank.. Is it ok for big game or only for match fishing.. de likes of flounder n bass fishing which are popular there. N, ive also hear..bout the other m4 gt without de evo is actually using de lower part of de m4 evo blank. Tks..bros..really need to decide..

I am no guru but here is my take on your qs.
When fighting big game like pari and such, the whole rod goes into action and not just the tip.
The glass tip is for registering small bites which most "tournament" field rods will not be able to show.
In other words, if you are talking about fishing and not field casting, a glass tip like the m4 GT is actually a better rod to buy than the full carbon one.

Hope this helps Wink

There is a standard M4 and an M4 Evo also an M4-GT......the M4-GT has an Evo butt, its just not shown on the label. The first few M4-GT rods that were made had the "Evo" included in the name but not any more.

The glass used in the tip section is the most advanced out there, dont make the mistake of thinking it will lack power in any way, but will make it more user-friendly for the caster.

Hi TomB,

Since the M4-GT has the same butt section as the M4 Evo. What kind of rod action does the M4-GT falls under? Will it bend all the way to butt section like the M4 does (Parabolic or C-curve)? I'm looking for something more forgiving in the butt section than my current Dymic HST Evo.

Greatly tks for de valuble info.. Bro Prodrive, Bro Tomb B n Bro Physio.. Bro Physio,.. ive just spoken via phone wt one of the staff in Gerrys n this is what he told me.. dat the M4 evo gt's blank n the M4 evo's blank are actually de same stiffness from below the glass tip n right throught de butt. The gt's or glass tip are only at the tip of de rod but the throughout stiffness power of the blank are the same. It will be better for indicating fish bites n more forgiving for the caster. Anyway, i've aldy ordered a M4evo n a M4evo gt... Once, i've got hold of them, i will definately update much more... TKS BROS...

Thanks for the information. I had a go at the M4-GT or M4-GT EVO yesterday. The butt is similar in feel like the M4-EVO. Tip feel softer than the standard M4 but have no problem recovering nicely on the 125gm.....I've underestimated it

Standard M4 - Very fast recovery tip section and will bend all the way to the butt.

M4-GT - Slightly softer than the standard M4 tip and stiff butt.

Cheers! Laughing
