EVENT : Semakau Sport Fishing League 2009
FROM : Starting on 29th March to September 2009

We urge the fishing community & anglers to support this coming fishing event held on our Pulau Semakau. Semakau is the 1st of the restricted fishing grounds to be implemented with Catch & Release Practices to all the fishes caught. With your support, we hope that the success of this event, can in term make an impact, be an example & influence to the other allocated legal fishing grounds of Singapore.

SFAS Semakau sport fishing trips will be an on-going fishing league, based on point system. There will be total of 07 trips and a final finale in October 2009.

Those who do not wish to take part in the point system league; you can also participate in our trips as a normal fishing trip.

Objective :

• To Award the Catch & Release Angler with the BEST monthly catch.

• To Award the The League Champion, at the end of the year, he will receive the Championship Shield/Trophy, from his catch & release efforts, which will be display at fishing tackle shop of the anglers' choice.

Rules & Conditions :

1. Open to Public and SFAS members.
2. Official monthly fishing League will be set by SFAS.
3. All catch are awarded with points. (Points will be allocated as per mentioned below. )
4. Each Semakau trip will have a limit of Max. 2 boats or 22 Anglers.
5. 3 points are awarded to paid and present Anglers when participating for the monthly League.
6. Participant will be given a colour number badge with measuring tape to be worn at all time during the Competition. All colour number badge has to be returned at the end of fishing hours for redemption of the 3 points.

7. All catch must have 3 photographic view.

(d)Note: All photos MUST be taken by a digital camera. (Hand phone camera are not allow for catch submission)

8. SFAS official Judge/Guide is final
9. Anglers with catch report must submit before 1:30pm at the designated location/shelter.
Note: Late submission will not be entertained.
10. Any dishonesty will be disqualified from the League totally.
11. Medal/Award will be given at the end of the fishing hours.
12. After the 07th monthly leagues, we will award the highest point accumulated angler as the "League Champion".
13. The League Champion, monthly Winner and Anglers with highest accumulated points will compete again for "Champion of Champion".
14. SFAS have the rights to change the prizes or cancel the event without prior notice.

Champion of Champion:
S$700 worth of prizes(sponsor by Lure Haven), and S$300 voucher (sponsor by Sincere Fishing Tackles), S$100 voucher plus S$150 hamper of products (sponsor by SureCatch).

1st Runner up for Champion of Champion:
S$200 voucher (sponsor by Sincere Fishing Tackles), S$80 voucher plus S$100 hamper of products (sponsor by SureCatch)

2nd Runner up for Champion of Champion:
S$100 voucher (sponsor by Sincere Fishing Tackles), S$50 voucher plus S$50 hamper of products (sponsor by SureCatch)

After October 2009, there will be close season to all Semakau Sport Fishing trip.

Points:
1. Giant Herring/ Tarpon - 18 points
2. Sea Bass - 15 points
3. Snapper - 12 points
4. Queen fish - 8 points
5. Trevally (family) - 5 points
6. Barracuda - 3 points
7. Grouper - 2 points
8. *Others - 1 point

Fishes measuring minimum length of 10 inches (25.4 cm) and above will qualify for the entry of the competition.

* Others-Types of fishes not within the above categories, measuring 10 inches & above, SFAS official Judge/Guide will decide on awarding the points

It was a great day today, clear sky and crystal clear water.
We have total of 19 anglers.
1st fish was landed just minutes after we arrived at the southern tip.
A 12lb(5.5Kg) Queen fish was landed.
