are both the body same in size?
so does it makes sense to get the 8000 size over the 6000 size?
as it has large line cap and lighter in weight...

please advise if anyone has seen both the reels before.

thanks.

I was having a play with these in a shop on Saturday. Not bad. Shame there is not a bigger one though.

Shimano how do you see this reel fitting into your range? It seems to me fairly similar to the smaller size Saragossas.

The body is the same, the difference is the spool size.

Depending on your need, if you do not need the lager line capacity, getting the 6000 is good else you may be wasting the extra line input

This reel is actually the replacement for the Navi PG series with some added improvement and is for the Japan market.

For Saragosa, it is for the US/Europe market.

In our region, there it may not be an significant as we bring in reels from both Japan and Non-Japan market.

If to comapre reel to reel, Aceration is a value for money investment for beginner and those with limited budget but wanted to enjoy the deep blue sea.

Thanks for that.

I can't pretend to understand how Shimano decides which reels are for which market Smile. Saragosa is a very popular reel in Asia yet apparently it is aimed at the US/Europe market....

Mainly it is determine by the market demand, and yes, saragosa is a good reel and we witness lots of action on this reel in our India trip recently

HG is High Gear while PG is Power Gear. Basically, they are made of the same parts but comes in 2 different gear ratios in separate models.

Usually, PG is more preferred as its lower speed hence high torque while HG is more for popping and fast lure retrieving to agitate the fish.

But with today's gear design, even at high speed it is still effortless to crank and its high torque too.

Personal preference I would go for high torque, low speed, PG

Hi,

Can I know what is the difference in weight for the 6000 n 8000 model. The 8000 model seems to be bigger but why is it lighter than the 6000 model.

Thanks!

this is a 8000 body with a choice of 6000/8000 spool.

If you're looking for a 6000 reel, better look for other model/brand. i see very little application for a big body reel with small spool.

Shimano has many model which is this way, but they also hav some model which is not.

So for a 6000size reel, most people look for daiwa4000.
same line cap, smaller and lighter body.

cheers

I wanted to get the aceration 4000 but was out of stock. I love the look of the knob of the handle. Is there anyway I could get the knob for the aceration so that I could change the knob on my sienna? Where can I get the knob for that? Does your dealers carry this spare part? I bought the sienna 4000FD though. Which the specs shows that it has a drag of 13kg. Not sure if that is the actual drag but seems cheap and good.

Hi! Sienna knob is factory fitted. So your aceration knob will not be able to fit into a sienna.
