Both model come with same specification. The only difference is on the action. One is regular action and the other is fast action ... Both are great rod to suit your different style and is value for money

Dear Shimano

I went to your new product exhibition today. Was interested to know more about your vanquish. Your catalog book seems to show JDM Vanquish with very low drag.

There was also 2 type of Stella FE, JDM and Export version. Please advise and clarify on the specs.
Vanquish 3000 ideal drag 3.5kg only.
JDM Stella C3000 ideal drag 3.5kg only
Compare to Export Stella 3000FE ideal drag 7kg

Please explain why the drastic difference.

Thanks for highlighting it out.
There are 2 kinds of Stella in the market, Stella (JDM) and Stella FE (Export).

When it comes to drag level, the SEA Catalog will be showing the IDEAL drag setting. Maximum drag for Stella C3000, Stella FE3000, Vanquish C3000 is 9kg. However, we listed 3.5kg as a recommended setting. basically we used 40% of maximum drag to get this figure.

The "Compare to Export Stella 3000FE ideal drag 7kg" is actually a typo error on our part and we will change in for future editions of the catalog.

Once again, thank you for your support and we hope you had a good time at the open house.

Regards

Hello Shimano.

1. when will the Shimano Expride spinning reels be available in SG? what size(s) would you recommend to match the Vanquish 4000XG?

2. had my good friend attend the open house at Hotel Rendezvous last Sunday (5-13-12) to check on the Vanquish Reels as i'm here in the phil. On the 4000XG's spool, line capacity indicated are:
no-m
3.5-170
4-150
5-125
it is to my understanding that these are mono line sizes in metric(?)... what are the equivalent or max. line sizes i can use since i prefer using the Super 8 Slick braided lines instead?

my friend was at Tan Thong Cheong Co. yesterday afternoon to purchase the 4000XG and they just sold their last 2 in stock while he was in the store. quite disappointed as i wanted one shipped to me asap. will have to wait till they get their new stocks in, hopefully this week.

thank you and impressive NEW product lines at the show. more power Shimano!

Hi Shimano.

Had my friend purchase the Shimano Bassterra XT S65MH spinning rod and the Stradic 2500FJ a couple of weeks ago but haven't used it to date as i'm still ordering a few items namely the PP S8S braided line and Shimano fluorocarbon high power leader for my set-up. purchased the reel at Born to Fish and the rod at Tan Thong Cheong Co.

need your advise on the items i ordered. got the 30lbs PP S8S braid and the 50lbs Fluorocarbon hi-power leader. a few concerns are, the Stradic 2500FJ spool indicates 30lbs/95yds is compatible but will using this size be okay for the Bassterra XT's line weight specs of 10-20lbs? also, will using the 50lbs fluorocarbon leader be compatible with the 30lbs PP S8S braid line?

also purchased a 20lbs and 40lbs wire leader for applications i shall be using with this set-up depending on area and fish.

your suggestions will be much appreciated as i want to get the correct items before i have them shipped to me.

thanks and hoping to hear back from you. more power Shimano!

I would like some additional information on the anti corrosion properties of the new vanquish reels. Although the Vanquish reels are marked as safe to use in saltwater but from my understanding MG is magnesium, and magnesium is highly corrosive in saltwater but since the new Vanquish reels are SUPER MG which is an alloy, I'm wondering if the Super MG alloy used on the Vanquish are the same to that found in the flagship Stella FE?

I would really appreciate it if you can enlighten me on this because I'm looking for a high end reel that is both light and durable, and the Vanquish does seem like an excellent proposal, but the only reason that is stopping me is some doubts on using the reel in the salt.

Not sure about your question. Stradic FJ 2500 and the basterra XT 65' is a good match for light tackle. Personally i will use 20~30lb line to spool into my size 2500 for most of my light tackle setup but i am not sure on the type of fishing in you area, why do you need a 50lb leader line? seem too heavy for me personally.

There are no right or wrong ways of fishing but usually different angler will have different preference in fishing. Some will pair the line they use to the rod and some don't. The line rating on the rod is for reference on the performance of the rod.

The rotor is actually made of the Shimano CI4+ material, this material is also known as Magnumlite (has a very strong anti corrosion properties, almost corrosion free). The body is the same as the stella, using the super Mg material.
