SearchJust newly joined this forum one of my acquaintence recommended me but I won't categorize myself as lady angler yet la.. haha. Just got this new hobby recently so would like to ask all fellow korkors and jiejies to guide me!
Just a little background about me (Please endure my lor sor ness):
I started prawning about 5 years ago and I love love love to prawn! Used to go to bishan (always love to prawn at this place. The satay and chicken complete with beer there is freaking awesome!), pasir ris, geylang, east coast. But slowly I realised that i am spending too much on prawning and I can't exactly eat that much prawn. Also Bishan, my fave place is getting super crowded and quite far away from where I stay. While the rest of the places I find quite boring and their prawns quite small :X I also intro my bf to prawning too! HAHA!
So subsequently I stopped prawning. Almost too rash go and buy my own red prawning rod. Haha. One day I told my bf why not we try fishing cos rather den go shopping to spend money why not go fish. haha. He has a little wee bit of knowledge in fishing cos he use to follow his father to go fishing when he was young. But his knowledge super limited la.
So one day I told my mum I am going to fish den she said my elder brother have a fishing rod! Wah! I so excited cos no need spend money buy rod. So the rod is erm.. those can retract de rod so i think can only use to fish small fish but nvm. I learn first. Den, my bf got very excited went to buy another rod and reel from beach road there. Then, we went youtube to see how to tie hook this and that.
So our fishing journey start here. We went to Bedok reservoir cos near my house ma. I also never do research or what just go la! Den heng heng catch 1 tor sak. About my forearm length. So happy lor! Second time go there thought can heng heng catch a few more. But no avail. So we went bedok jetty cos i read online can fish there. Then, I heard got people catch big fish like so excited. So we went.
First time go there see how people fish also learn how to jig for fish. I had so much fun jigging for fish :P Then, my bf caught 1 fish, don't know what fish. Green color look abit like cat fish. So happy! Then went there 2nd time and 3rd time but nothing at all. So low morale.
Then we decided to recce for other places. So we went to this canal where we tried fishing. Saw a group of uncle and they taught us how to fish for swa cham. So went there to fish 3 times! Got a few small tor saks and swa chams. Wah! I so contented sia!
But i guess i can't be contented so easily. Must learn how to fish for bigger fishes!
I also wish to know more like the different baits for different fish, which place use which bait, what kind of hooks and stuffs like that. I am also really bad at all the fishing technical terms so bear with me k. hehe. Hope all kor kors and jie jies can guide me and impart me knowledge this noob along! xie xie!
