Hope to find out how u all maintain and clean your baitcast reels after a saltwater outing. Currently using a shinano Antares dc7 and aldebaran reel. Hope to find our more about this. Thanks

Thanks Hi usually for me, I will strip of the whole spool of line to soak in warm water for around 10-20mins if there is saltwater usage. Then will strip the reel, remove the spool for cleaning using and cloth with warm water. Wipe the frame as the salt might interfere, especially the gaps where the spool runs along the frame. Use a little Corrosion-X on a small cotton and run it around the spool and inside frame to protect. But for usage more than 5 times bearing cleaning and interior deep cleaning will be done. So far I had been doing this and no corrosion has occurred and reel still works nicely. How this helps. |
