2nd March THURSDAY

No fishing for the last few days. It was a good time for me to bring my car to the " hospital " . The bill came out $ 1,200. Well, better do it than regret it when the situation gone worst.

Have to go to the doctor also & ask than to refer a heart specialist to me. I urge all men & women than above 50 years of age, especially men, MUST go for special check up. NOT the ordinary or so called executive check up that pay around $ 300 to $ 400.

That doesn't mean you have to wait until you reached 50 years of age & above, do it if you have the means & time. Check your medical insurance, ask your agent how to go about because the cost can be thousands.If your insurance covers, depending on your plan, it may be able to cover full or cover a large portion of the bill.

For Health sick, go check up my friends. Than you can go fishing after that & enjoy.

2nd March FRIDAY

Today we went night fishing. Not bad for a new day of the new month with only 4 hours of fishing.

Keith my regular called me up around noon & asked for night fishing. I asked him when & he replied " tonight "

Went out around 7.30pm. He was late as we supposed to go out at 6.30pm

Not bad for just four hours, only Keith & his friend.

03rd March SATURDAY

Long time kaki John came with his bother today. Haven't been seeing them for a while already.

John lost weight & looked much more healthy. I ought to learn from him & do the same

Today was a good fish biting day. We actually missed many good solid hooked up & pumped & sangkut.

After lunch when the tide started coming up. All the action stopped. This had proven again of what I always said : It is not necessary & not true that we have to fish during tide coming up.

Both of them were happy. See them again soon

4th March SUNDAY

Ken, Frasen & Peng, my very regular kaki came at 8am this morning. As yesterday was a good CR day. I thought today would be as good as well.

Tide going down as we went out. No bite on the first round. Current moving very slow. Went to second location, plate size grouper & one huge one. Hooked a even much heavier one, line went Zzzzzzzzz...zzzzzzzzzzzz, kaki pumped & real in a little, sangkut...... Shxx...

Went to third location, grouper again & no bite all round. Things doesn't looked good.

Went makan at Changi Village. We realised that the whole food center was in the process of renovation. Somehow kaki managed to Da Pao food & drinks.

Went to forth location. I missed a few pulled & kaki hooked on a KBL,
he pumped up & the KBL made a final turned & went down, line burst........

Tried the next few locations... & NO BITE, NO BITE, NO BITE..........
Kaki were very disappointed, & so did I.

Better catch next round my friends.

5th March Monday

Nick & father came today. Weather was good in the early morning & about 9am.....that's it.... super heavy rain & strong wind. The rain lasted few hours.

The whole days biting rate was low. It was about 25 times, out of these, around 6 very heavy pumped & GONE.... But landed good sizes fishes.

Both of them were very happy. Me too.

6th March TUESDAY

No booking, Went looking for new locations & spot.

I went behind UBIN. Saw my super groupers spot beside Kelong being surrounded by lines. I asked the kelong people what happened. He told me ever since he let me fish very near to his fish farm, many other boats followed. Some even used my method to tie the line on the pole & caused many damages. He had no choice but to stop everyone to come near & fish.



I was very angry, not to the fish farm people but other boaters.This was what I was telling to all kakis many times. I try hard to look for new spots & others just followed & end of the day,.....no one can fish.

I was very angry also because I had new kakis came to my boat & told me which boatmen brought them to which super spot to fish & turned out it was the same one. One boat from Changi, few from Ponggol marina. One had the same type of boat that I have.

Did you know I argued with the fish farm people so many times that we almost wanted to fight ?? Did you know how many beers I've brought to the fish farm ???? All this went to the drain.

It is not easy to go near to any fish farm or kelong to fish cos' the people will tell you to get lost. Unless they know you & don't mind. This is what I have been trying to do very hard. Others just follow having a free ride & try their luck.

If it is at open waters is OK, but not near to any fish farm/Kelong.

End of the day. have to try & try to look for more new locations & spots.

7th March WEDNESDAY

Went night luring at 10pm. 3 guys & i gal. One kaki had experienced night luring at these waters here, even went with bosses from tackle shops who came to my boat for night luring also. Our luring time will be 4 to 5 hours toiight.

One kaki Macus had a short conversation with me. We both knew that we could trust each other. I knew what he could do, & he knew what I could do.

Sad to say that the weather wasn't as friendly. The sky started with slight wind & lightning. Only small bite & one grouper. Than of course, heavy rain.

We called it off around 2.30am. Kakis were nice & hope to see them again.

8th March THURSDAY

Old kaki called around noon & asked if he could fish 4 hours today ? I told him OK & going to meet him at 4pm Ponggol Marina.

4 hours, less rthan 3 bites. Believe it it or not ?? Only landed one small size GT.

Both Kelvin & myself were .......

Anyway, Kaki knew me & said he will bring his friends back again soon.

10th March SATURDAY

Regular group Jerry & friends came with a new kaki. went out at 8am. Weather looked good, Water looked good. Tide were good & NO BITE.........

To make it short. Total of the day less than 15 bites, & those were the fishes we landed but we put many smaller fishes.

Biting rate & catch rate were almost equal. VERY good for fishing concerned. But only 3 very good size groupers & one mid size sweet lips. The rest................too small lah.....

11th March SUNDAY

Mathew came short while ago & today he came again with 2 other kaki. One came before & the other was new.

Just like yesterday, weather, water, tide..every was good. Only about 15 real good biting. Guess what we have landed ???

All the very good size fishes. Snapper was about 1.5kg, KBL, 2 groupers about 1kg each & the rest about 800g to 900 g, s ray 3.5kg.... other smaller once & eel we put back to the sea.

All of us were very pleased. Today may not have quantity but we have Quality. yea..................

kaki booked for next month.....

12th March Monday

Poh & friends came 3 weeks ago & they were here today. Total 4 kakis, one was new to my boat.

Yesterday was good fish good bite. Today more smaller fishes biting our prawns but managed to land some good once.

A KBL & a large cat fish & the rest. Poh was ready to book on April. We will be checking the day date to confirm.

I just realized today my baby boat came in best catch for these 2 days at UBIN waters.

14th March WEDNESDAY


Kaki cancelled today's trip

Reason : The spots & locations that I am going to bring them will sangkut.................

I believe you are referring to me.
Firstly I cancelled the trip more than a month back thru sms.
Secondly, yes I decided to cancel the trip after you told me to prepare 10-20 leaders(cant rem exact no.) per pax due to high sangkot rate.

I will be bringing 3 kakis as well as my wife who are first timers to boat fishing.

Therefore I see nothing wrong with that

The reason I put up is to let kaki know why kaki cancel the trip. Nothing to do with your timing.

I understand your concern but..............that's not a reason to fishing kakis. WHY ? It is because all kakis like sangkut areas. This is where we got bites & fishes.

You were the first & only kaki that said NO to sangkut areas. That's why when you told me your concerned, I was .

I can bring you to less sangkut areas. By the way, to ask you to prepare many rigs & sinkers doesn't mean that you will sangkut so many times.

Tell your kakis to try my fren. There's some saying on my baby boat : Current too strong no fish. Dead or no current no fish. No Sangkut also no fish lah.

No problem. Just want to clarify since I know you are referring to me

I do go to "sangkut areas" and even areas with alot of corals.
I am not saying No to all this areas. But your sms make me think that the sangkut rate is way too high.

Which is why i think it is not suitable for my kakis who are new.

Anyway nvm lah. Good luck to your upcoming trips.

14th March TUESDAY

Raining since late last night. The rain actually stopped around noon today. Due to heavy rain this morning, new kaki Mr. D with his junior son & I went out around 9am.

As usual, I will bring kaki to sangkut areas. Biting rate was low today as expected but we have landed good quality fishes. In fact, we missed few good pulled also.

Total sangkut only 3 times. One time each from 3 of us.

Mr. D was so happy & ready to booked again very soon.

15th March THURSDAY

Kelvin Came few days ago for 4 hours & today he came again with a new kaki. He wanted to go at 3pm.

Set off around 3.30pm. Water tide was about to come up. kaki were so excited but I told them if the fishes had makan this morning during tide coming down, than we better pray hard that it will bite later when the tide started to come up.....

Well, started with no bite, small bites... changed spot, no bite... changed again, & again......... OK...a big snapper landed, big puu;;ed.......good fight. Kaki happy

Missed few good pulled at drifting, started no bite waiting game again, when the sky turned dark. Kaki told me they may wanted to extend time, I told NO point, tonight will be a VERY QUITE NIGHT. Don't waste money.

Truly, No bite until almost mid night which I have extended time for them. We have to called it off.

By the way, the cutter fish was very huge. It was about 1 ft or 30cm long. Shark was about 2.5ft long which we have put back to the sea.

16th March FRIDAY

My Suzuki 4 strokes engine service day. had a good wash also.

I also went to buy fishing rod holders, new spare anchor & S.steel chain, & visit my client's Condo & my uncle...

Went tackle shop, bought this, bought that...........

Had a rich day even not a fishing buy spent a lot of money lah....
