1st Jan 2012 SUNDAY

Happy New Year 2012 to all kakis.

First day of the New Year & a good day to start fishing with 2 KBL & 1 Sweet Lips. Not a fantastic catch for the day but compared to the rest of the boats that played Ubin & Changi today, we were OK..

Peter & 4 other friends came to try my baby boat. Water wasn't that good today, I was thinking what was I suppose to do today..... My answer was : I 'll do the opposite way.. .......& it worked.

Morning session was OK but after lunch was bad. In fact, it was raining very heavily when we were at Pasir Ris.

Could have 2 more KBL but half way sangkut. The pulled was very strong & It was the KBL location & the 2 other KBL was landed there.

Well, better luck next trip my frens. See you guys soon

2nd Jan 2012 MONDAY

TAD who came on my baby boat before brought his brother in law from the U.K. today. We were suppose to go out at 8.30am, but could not go fishing until about 10.30am. This was because there were no prawns to buy every where, even at auntie fish farm.

We waited till about 10.25am & the prawn delivery finally here. I wanted to catch the going down tide but missed it. And to my surprised, the water was very cold. It would be another day of waiting game:(

Through enough, biting was extremely low. I changed spots so many times & still bad. We tried & tried till 6.30pm & have to call it a day.

See you again when you are back to Singapore Mark.

3rd Jan TUESDAY

NO fishing today. Have to wash the exterior of my boat because it had been on the water for a month. It was full of oil, dirt, tar, barnicle, even small oysters, may be I should let it grow

4th Jan WEDNESDAY

Regular J called this morning & asked if I could go for half day trip ? As I was about to go to the marina because the Suzuki fellows were going to be there servicing my engine, I told him to meet me at 1pm.

J game with a new kaki M. We went to seletar for two locations, no bite. Than to changi & stayed there till 5.35pm & called it a day.

These was what we landed, not too bad for 4 hours. J & M acrtually missed many bites, hooked & sangkut too.

The 2 larger once were about 600g. One was a Golden KBL & the other was a Damsel & the snapper was about 400g

6th Jan FRIDAY

Jan came 2 days ago & today he came with 2 more kakis who had been on board before short while ago.

Supposed to go out at 10am but kaki late so we went out at around 10.40pm. No bite till about 12.40pm & we went Changi Village to pick up Any.

Went drifting & got small fishes & a good size Gruanter. Went to loyang later & started to bite. Lots of groupers but mostly smaller once.

End of the trip we put 13 smaller fishes to my farm & took back bigger once. All three fishes were closed to 1kg each.

7th Jan SATURDAY

Andrew & friends came the first time on board. They have been followed my FK forum for a while.

First half of the day was very bad. Second half after lunch turned much better.

Kaki hooked on something big & strong few times, one too strong & the line almost cut his finger ( using 30 Dupont hand line )one got his rod full bended & still pulling by the fish but off hook & the rest too strong to pulled up straight & it went down again & got sangkut.

Ah. this is fishing. Especially the sangkut zone was not easy to fish.

Kaki were happy & booked for FEB trip. Yea............

You make me believed once again that our lovely Singapore sea is not dead, there are no Seas with no fishes, just lazy boatmans!! Really enjoyed the whole trip, and sincerely thanked you for the short tips, see you again soon !!!!!

8th Jan SUNDAY

Yesterday was good weather, good water & good bites. But this early morning heavy rain really let my mood dropped.

K, F & P super regulars came today. They had the same feeling too, What the rain !!!!!!!!!!!$%$@###@#$%%^^&^&&**((()))(&*^

First location spend 1 hour. Biting so so, but landed one big Golden Pomfret. Went to Paris & Loyang & drifting = O . Bought our lunch & went to Grouper location.

The sky was raining cats & dogs. Ah............. what a day, we all thought today would be No Fish Day.

I told kakis I would stay at the spot for the rest of the day because it was no point shifting already as water tide going down very very strong & + raining.

We waited & waited, as the rain stopped for few minutes, we landed fish. Rain again , no bite. Rain stopped, fish landed. This repeated for few rounds & guessed what we have landed so far. The Pearl Grouper was more than 1.5kg............

10th Jan TUESDAY

C & T came again. No fixed day & date. Just feel like it & they will call & check if I am available. The previous trip T called me 6am & asked " Today can go fishing ? "...........& is OK........... lets go fishing. I like that.

I was thinking today might be good weather But morning started to rain again. In fact, the whole day had been dropping water from the sky.

First location landed groupers, snappers & others. OK for a start. The second more bite but no landing. The third was a 1kg snapper.

Water turned bad. We all went Changi Village for lunch. Kaki told me that they haven't got KBL from my boat. I told them & myself I will do my best to let them have KBL. So off we went to fish KBL.

First try, no luck. Went to try grouper.........no bite. Try KBL again................yes.....................hooked on... a KBL, landed & kaki were super happy. 5 minutes......another hooked on............KBL again, I told C be careful, don let it jumped out of the water........the KIM did..... splash... twist.......off hooked.........what the F.&&&^^%%$##@$%^&*())(*&*&^%$. C was very upset. But T was laughing all the way hahaha........

Waited another 20 minutes, fish on again, Big pulled, rod full bend, It must be big. T pumped, rod pulled............burst line..............what the &&&&^^^FFFFF#@@#$%^&
Now C was laughing all the way, hahahah.................

Waited another 10 minutes.............KBL............ haha, came up....twist & jump..........off hooked..(((**&&^^%%$$#@()))(*& I than gave them some tips on how to handle & control the rod & reel when hooked on a KBL to prevent the KIM to jump. Trust me, it will work if you know how especially when the KIM been pulled near to the boat.

NO bite........went back for grouper.........No bite... went back for KBL.......I told kakis no more KBL already, water too muddy & shallow....waited......no bite, I have to called it a day.

Well, total 4 KBL hooked on & only one landed, not many good chances like that to hook on 4 times, better luck next trip my frens.

Actually the best record for today was ME.......uncle Dave....... I landed 3 Toa Tau, ( Big Head Toad fish )& one Aramugam, baby Johnson.
Kaki even told me to post for photos & put in FK.......

12th Jan THURSDAY

Anthony, a regular came with 3 new kakis today.

First half of the day was no good. I was hoping the second half would be better. Truly, Went to KBL spot & landed one KIM. Went to grouper spot & landed big pearl grouper & others. haha... not bad now.

I told kakis I wanted to go try the KBL spot again..... yes...kaki landed another KIM.

All in all we had landed some good fishes. kaki & myself were pleased.

14th Jan SATURDAY

Amos & 3 other kakis came DEC 22nd & came again today.

Morning we went Seletar. NO BITE.................I told them lets try jigging, we ended a lot of larger size bait fishes.

No luck on the first half of the day. Only when it was about 1.20pm onwards that fishes started to bite.

Ah girl landed a GT & a large Snapper, missed 2 solid pulled & pumped & missed others all because of sangkut. Today no bite for KBL also.

Oh yes, one kaki who landed a " Shark " previously also landed a " shark " today...hahahahahaha...................

Kakis were still pleased for today's trip

15th Jan SUNDAY

Jeffrey & friends came again today.

Morning the tide was very low, we went to first spot & I told the kaki to jig or lure. One kaki had a first bite in 5 seconds.............ah, off hook. try again.. hit.....pulled................off hook again..... Tried another 2 times & same thing happened.

I told kaki could not miss again as all the fishes would " RUN " away.

Guessed what? quite down straight away. Kaki tried another 10 minutes, no bite & I have to change location.

After getting about 9 nos. of large size bait fish, we went to kelong. no bite at all & I decided to try my old KBL location..............

Yes, one KBL landed, followed by snapper, than grouper, than grouper again. Not bad for a old spot.

Tried Paris Ris, no bite. Than to changi & landed quite a lot of mid size fishes & 2 2ft long moral eel. On the way back, we hit another rare golden KBL. Good size. About 5pm, I had to called a day.

16th Jan MONDAY

Regular Alan Ee brought 2 new kaki today, also jokers like him.

We started off not good. Went to my old KBL spot & hooked on a big strong pull immediately. kaki fight back with big pump............off hook.....ah shxx.................. this kaki total hooked on 4 big strong pulled today & one particular one even pulled out line ZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz,zzzzzzzzz all the way, pumped back & ZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz again, pumped...................off hook........... What the Fxxx $$%%%^^&&&&&^^^FFFFFFFFFF)()(*&^$#!! All his friends were Fxxx FFF%%%^^^&&$$#@ him for 4 times.

Went a few locations today, all were my old spot that bite. All the bite were mostly bigger catch... good for the day.

WE had good time & fun today & kakis were happy. By the way, we had a small golden KBL landed today & a huge cat fish

17th Jan TUESDAY

The whooper KIM is back. The golden KBL & the golden promfet are about 1kg each.

Jan my super regular brought his relative today. Not much experience in fishing but he was a fast learner, a cool guy, willing to listen & follow the tips given, & had super luck.

Almost all the fishes were caught by him. Jan hooked on a KBL too but too rush to pump it up, the KIM slammed on the side of my boat & off hook. Too bad........but a very good lesson for him to understand that to bring a KIM up to your boat need patient & skill & most importantly, a large net.

Not bad for today that just fish for 6 hours plus. Thank you JAN, you are my great kaki, always buy 2 cold canned of KOPI for me.

By the way, Jan never bring any fish home all the while, he just love the sea & pumping the fish

18th Jan WEDNESDAY

Today is a good day. Biting rate was good especially for the biggies.

But today is also not a good day as we could not land a single biggie.

I & A came for the first time. First spot A dropped the line to test water, Big Pulled straight away.........ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz everyone got shocked, A pumped..ZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz again....... off hook. Damm.....

To second spot. After landed a good size grouper. it was my turn... big pulled, I pumped & reel in..... very heavy & pulling..... suddenly a second pulled, this time it was so strong that my whole rod bended downwards. Mind you my short rod wasn't a soft rod..... sangkut.............. try again with new rig....big pulled again...sangkut......damm damm again

Went to try KBL, 5 minutes, I stood up & went to the front & get a drink. A big pulled, all the way down. I rushed back to my rod, saw the KBL surfaced up & twisted & turning....off hook........damm damm damm

changed location.we have few good pulled, good pumped & off hook...man, what the hook ??? !!! $$$%%^^^^&&&***(())_FFFFFFFFF

Went to another KBL spot. Same thing happened. Big pulled, good pumped, off hook............................

Went to try another spot. This time 3 of us got 3 BIG BIG pulled & even ZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz & all of us could not land a single big one. Either sangkut or off hook again...

What the Fish is going on today

I could only say 3 big Goondoos could not even land a biggie properly. It was more like 3 cartoons FFFF%%%^^^&&&&$$#@@(******** on the boat

End of trip. All of us were tired, A bit disappointed but very happy:lol:

19st Jan THURSDAY

Joe, my super regular & supporter brought one new kaki today. Joe requested that we go " test water " all the way up to Senoco near the bridge to Johore.

When we really went back to start fishing, is already 12pm plus. Try behind Ubin, no bite. At KBL spot, water very very low, no bite also.
Then I went to another location which I knew fish bite at " dead" water ( meaning No current ) fish started to bite. Yea.......

Than we went to try another KBL spot, no action again. I quickly went to the spot where 3 big goondoos yesterday missed all the big big pulled.......... yes... KBL landed, yes, groupers landed, than big pulled started again...... on me , on kakis...........4 to 5 times if I could recalled but all got sangkut & burst line.........There must some big suckers below , I must hooked them up.

Try drifting, hooked up big snapper, last spot near Ponggol but hooked up cat fish...........

21st Jan SATURDAY

My most blur photos taken. Why ?? Because we were all wet & cold, still raining as we took the pictures, that's why we stayed on the boat to take the picture....of course, the lens a little foggy la...

Chong & friends ( One lovely lady missing in photo )had been following the FK on my forum for a while & decided to booked my baby boat.

We went out at the highest tide. First location, few snappers. At about 9.30am, I quickly went to the second location to catch the going down tide.

Reached there, I told kakis to watch out for " monsters "......... 5 seconds....kaki had a big pulled & he pumped, pulled & pumped again ...............off hook............ ...20 seconds later, I had a good pulled........yes, landed a good size pearl grouper.

Went grouper spot, landed good size groupers & snapper, & missed a few solid pulled. We had it actually, pulled half got sangkut........

Lunch at Changi Village. Went drifting, no bite. Than we went the last spot to wait for the tide upturn.

4.10pm, yes...started biting, one black sweet lips,than KBL, than KBL again but kaki too rush to bring it up & fell back to the water half way in............ I missed a good one also.

Sky turned dark very fast, lighting & thunder came, no more bite & we have to called it a day.

Kaki were pleased & so do I for the trip today. See them soon.
