Dear all...
Just to do a brief update on the basic fishing course conducted over the last week. Theory lessons were held in SIM and the practical was at Bedok Jetty.

After Action Review(AAR) of theory lesson:
videos ,hands on rig and knot tying and dry casting is interesting and informative. Dinner at botak jones was fantastic. lol-only got pic of the dinner table. too many pple to take pic.

AAR of practical:
Bedok Jetty , upcoming high tide of 2.3m at 0905hrs

Arrival of first new member at bedok mrt: 0730hrs
afterwhich the rest streamed in...exco members taking groups of 4 to share cab up to the jetty. After assemblying setups and doing the first cast,timecheck at 0830hrs. lucky we didnt miss too much of the tamban frenzy...first fish of the day by rane was a puffer fish though on apollo rig with prawn. =)

Next the tamban frenzy came in...no time to waste.... all exco got their hands busy trying to unhook the fish and sending the new members back for more. Fortunately Kai jin and Russel came along to help out. Taught the new ones how to unhook the fish and put it into the keep net. End of first wave at 0915hrs or so.

Second wave- tamban jig with prawn is deadly for the endless numbers of kelong chi aka crescent perch. multiple hook ups per rod was not uncommon. cheap thrill and good fun. Do take note that the crescent perch has sharp spines along its back and gill plates.
There are also hits from baby red snappers, selars and arunmugens aka johnson groupers and a singluar angoli.

Last attempt was a todak by bell, bernice and rane.lol of course the hook was set by kai jin. am sure the girls will pick that up in due time. Time:1120hrs-too hot to fish, so we packed and headed to the lagoon hawker centre for a well deserved brunch. Duck porridge, kway chap and the prawn noodles are some reccommendations we will suggest to the connosieurs. Sugar Cane juice with lemon and desserts are excellent in refreshing tired but happy people after a good first fishing session.

Total tally for the day:
50 over pieces of small fish with one todak to boot.
