It is considered not wise to share fishing spot but here is my recommendation.
1) Find a shore near you
2) Try different kind of tide, slow/ fast/ low/ high (Fishing more than 6hrs covers it high/low)
3) Bring different bait - Prawn and worm are local favourite since you get them alive from shop
4) Each different occasion you go, travel at least 100m away from your previous spot
5) Use the apollo rig or floating rig (if u don't use long rods)
6) Bring more sinkers.

There is always a so-called better spot in every area, just a matter whether you can find or not. You may start trying Pasir Ris breakwater 1-14 if you want to experiment but I generally avoid 6,7,10-12. For starters, try the Sungei Api Api river inlet.
For places like punggol, there are long stretch of sand/ stonewalls which makes it very hard even for fish to identify areas to hide.Best bet is to try the jetty, areas near the 2 dams, rocky area at start of railing to Punggol Marina, beach facing Coney island.
After a few months, should be able to decide whether to move elsewhere or continue fishing.I do notice there are some relation between tide/ month/ time of the day to catch rate.Avoid the sandy beaches if you don't intend to get a long rod.

I am the laziest person you can find here, lazy to travel far to fish.

1) Where is Pasir Ris Breakwater, Sungei APi Api outlet?
Regards

wat setup do u ve/intend to use. some spots mentioned are more suitable for long rod surf fishing, some 6-8ft are sufficient.

The place near Fisherman Village that I get these at night... hope it answers your question. There's nice grass to pitch tent and cook your fish if you have booked the BBQ pit.

Random, sometimes BW13, 14, api api and the 1st few breakwater near Loyang. It just depends how bad the catch is, 2-3 trips empty handed = change location. If water in the day is clear, means night fishing usually very good if alot of mosquito around. If murky, you'll get nothing but catfish and spend the night feeling cold.I use the insects to predict how my night trip will be. Humid, no wind = best.
This is how I rig my sarong bait:

Yes, that's what everyone call it after laughing at it.
It has gone thru many changes along the years, from 2 3-way swivel to the current single snap swivel.

Why the 3-way swivel was not used?
1) Weight of these sturdy 3 way swivel do cut down distance because it exert 2nd force directing the rig.If you use Eagle Claw, you know they are extremely sturdy and heavy.
2) Rig corrosion no longer a concern. I used to buy them from Gina seeing no rust after more than 10 trips. But usually, I am prone to at least 1 snap-off per trip when tuning the magnetic brakes along the cast.
3) Alternative way to make the snap swivel take in the force from the cast. That is to tie the shockleader and rig body to the same ring and snood to the 2nd ring.
4) Safety. We have heard of swivel giving way at the rounded joint when casting but rarely the ring splitting into half. It's not because my cast is powerful, I think there are barnacles, shells, breakwater rocks that wear out the sinker area.

Why use only 1 hook?
1) Having 2 set of sarong at 2 different location of the rig cut down my casting distance.
2) From my understanding, fish eating the 1st hook will never go chew the 2nd hook if you missed the chance to strike it. We are fishing simply in depth that have lesser catfish, not at spots which guarantee schools of snappers. If you can avoid catfish, you only have the pesky crab which mostly appear during spring tide.
3) Sarong is a bait that do not last for more than 30min, you are bound to change it. Not feasible put 2 hook instead of accumulating all in 1 hook to improve visibility.
4) It is not true that only bottom hook get bottom dwellers like catfish. Go to a track, lay your line a 100m away... see if both hooks touches the floor.

In short, it's cheaper and goes further with relay clip. I compare a sinker and a rig casting, only 10-15m difference. With sinker = hit barrel, with rig just before barrel at BW13. Sometimes I use low reel just to cut my distance and cast slower. Or simply bait needle a live prawn, squid, whiting, crab to try for other fish. Duri season, I will just pick the mussle found there to use.
The only disadvantage of rigging this manner is that the fish may not bite the hook and attack the snood instead. But since we are only interested in bigger fish, they will mostly swallow or get foul hooked.

Further not = more fish. If Singapore has so much reclaimed land, then to me there is alot of artifical habitat. If you can hit 200m, it just means you have a wider fishing zone than others. Mostly still luck, minority is distance to me.

Silly me, I just realised I just repeated what I said in an essay instead of a photo.
