Hi guys, i'm interested to try using UL fly tackle to hit "baitfishes" such as seklar and terubok just for the fun of it but i have no idea where i might be able to hit them from shore because most ppl fish for them at kelongs and i'm unable to get any good results from the forum search. Is there anyone who is able to point me in the right direction??

You can try Yishun dam or Woodlands waterfront for the occasional schools of terubok. But do note that there may be quite a bit of human traffic in the area and thus make it rather difficult to fly cast properly/safely...

o hey thanks michael! are these baitfishes more active during moving tides or during still waters?? i was thinking of walking out on the shore line casting for them using size 12-16 micro charlies probably tied with green or yellow craft fur.. do you think that would be possible?? i have actually never tried saltwater flyfishing but i think going for these random fishes on my 2wt sounds pretty fun lol. I find them more active when the tide is moving. One issue is that your casting distance is rather limited to about 30 - 40ft or so. And thus unless you are able to reach them, it's not a easy feat.

You can also try the same micro charlies at Changi and Marina South to target half-beaks. Gives you a good tangle too. Very Happy

if u try it at yishum dam, high chance u get the baby queenies or the todaks. doubt so u will get the terubuks. as i had tried it with the terubuks at woodlands waterfront, it didnt take the micro charlies. what was caught using micro charlies was the giant herrings.

I wonder how some people can claim thats their secret spot or their spot and the "spot" belongs to them.
