Hi All. Just saw the NS45 promo for SAFYC. Looks attractive with the members referral promo too.

Anyone took up the membership from there? Quite interested as they have boat charters and berthing if I intend to get a boat in future. Only thing is don't know whether have enough time to fully make use.

Just to confirm if anyone knows.. if I became a member and bought a boat from a fellow SAFYC member, can I take over the existing berth slot?

Thanks for any info.

Thanks for the clarification!

From the website, SAFYC seems like a very cosy club. Any member with experiences to share? Very Happy

I am a member there and I paid almost double the price, a few years ago!!! You should take advantage of the promo first as I heard that it is ending by end of the month, if you have the interests but be prepared to have the membership for your lifetime - it is non-transferable!

SAFYC Sembawang still have berthing available now.

If you have a friend who is a member, do quote his membership number. As a referral, he will enjoy $ bonus, that he could use to offset his subscription. After you have joined, you will enjoy the same benefits.

Last time I checked, in May 2012, SAFYC at Changi has no more empty berths.
This applies to both wet and dry berth.

Personally, I don't see the point of being a member of a marina if you are not able to berth your boat there.
Their facilities are nothing to shout about, and you don't need to be a member to dine there.

Let's not talk about NS45 promotion. I wouldn't go for it even if it's free.
Every month still have to pay a $60 subscription ....

It would be a totally different story if there are available berthing space.

It's a pity that they do not consider upgrading to dry stacking, as they are, in my opinion the best location for a marina in Singapore. Southern islands or Tekong ,Ubin are all within easy reach. Immigration and custom clearance is just 10 mins away and you save a lot of fuel going to horsburgh or SCS, even Nongsa Batam or Sebana is just a stones throw away. At the moment, the only way to get a berth is to buy a boat that is berthed there.

Dont waste money la... If you want a prestigious club go for RSYC.. If you just need a place to berth your boat, go MCC (no need subscription just simple berthing fees every month)

In terms of facilities, it look decent. The charter rates seems reasonable too.

Only thing is do not want to get, then end up just paying for monthly subscription and not really using much.

Guess this is quite common. Maybe thought of it as buying a life-style.

What sort of a lifestyle will there be in SAFYC CHangi? the tiny little swimming pool or the always crowded clubhouse or the old and shabby rooms? There arent much to talk about in sembawang clubhouse. And the membership isnt transferable so you cant resale in open market unlike RSYC or RM which still holds a standard market rate due to its reputations and of cos its affiliate benefits in the region not to mention the prestige class of facilities such as a proper swimming pool.

Hahaa .. really so bad ah!?

Ok, guess the only saving grace is the low monthly subscription fee.
